Yahoo is continuing its so-far impressive move to right the ship with the debut of Yahoo Answers and Wikipedia results in its mobile oneSearch platform - Yahoo's search engine built specifically for users with mobile devices. If you go to the site and type in 'why is the sky blue?', right at the top of the results you'll now see first a Wikipedia page and next a collection of questions from Yahoo Answers. Click on any of these and you'll be taken to the mobile version of the site where you can easily see the answers. Likewise clicking on the Wikipedia result will take you to a mobile-friendly synopsis prepared by Yahoo just for mobile users. Very nice.
Yahoo has also added flight information search - so a search for United Airlines 90, will return a quick status update about the flight. This is great.
The mobile web is obviously a huge frontier and aside from those of us with iPhone, so far it's made for a pretty awful experience. Initiatives such as this one by Yahoo are helping to move the market forward.
