Yahoo has just launched a big update to their search engine. Sleek, stylish, and useful, this looks to be just what the doctor ordered at Yahoo.Start typing a phrase in the search box and then slow down - Yahoo will lower a dark gray auto-suggest box. Okay, this is somewhat old news, many search engines have this auto-suggest feature implemented in some way, but Yahoo may have the best implementation of it yet on their results pages where this gray box (which can be accessed with the drop arrow or if you start typing again) introduces an 'explore concepts' area.
First of all Yahoo's auto-complete knows to complete 'parislemon', which I naturally think is awesome, but even better is the 'explore concepts' area for the term 'parislemon' which brings up terms like 'siegler', 'digg', 'twitter', 'iphone', 'techmeme', 'facebook', 'itunes', 'future', 'apple tech', and 'joost', all of which I think are probably the top things to best associate me with on the Internet. The best 'concept' for me by far though has to be 'outlaw'!
My gut feeling for the past month or so has been that Yahoo is about to turn a corner and come roaring back to life on the Internet. This search update along with their cellphone network ad deal in Europe are two of the most positive affirmations yet.

It's a promising feature. I hope to see Yahoo gain market share on Google.
