MyBlogLog Rolls Out Tags, Seeks Schmoes

MyBlogLog just went live with its new tagging feature - minutes after TechCrunch wrote about it.

Tagging is a great idea for MyBlogLog as it has worked so well for another Yahoo property, Flickr. The feature looks a bit clunky right now - just looks like a table jammed right under your picture and above the sites you author - but this prominent featuring should at least get people using it.

It's interesting that MyBlogLog plans on using these tags not only to better organize blogs but to weed out spammers as well. If you find a blog which you think is spam you're supposed to tag it with the word 'Schmoe' (for Social Media Optimizer). MyBlogLog will then look into it to see if it's actually a 'schmoe' blog.

So far the Yahoo purchase of MyBlogLog has rolled out some nice, though small-ish features for the site. I'm still waiting for it to be fully Yahoo-ified.

Feel free to tag me and my site(s) on MyBlogLog - be kind, I'm no schmoe.

We're pretty excited about it too! I tagged you blogger, but not schmoe ;)

I really like this feature have been playing with it for a few minutes. If you notice you are now the first on the Digg tags page because I tagged you Digg as well as someone else. So anyone please feel free to tag me up (that really sounded strange)

It is a very smart idea to categorize different blogs ;)

MBL has kind of copied what technorati have done awhile back, but I found that it is easier to tag this way.
